Owen-Jones Resigns From L’Oréal Board
L’Oréal’s honorary chairman, Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones, has written a letter to the company’s chairman and CEO, Jean-Paul Agon, announcing his resignation from its board of directors.
Virginie Morgon, executive board member and chief investment officer for Eurazeo, is slated to be named board director at the company’s next annual general meeting on April 26.
Maybelline DEBUTs Monthly Blog
Maybelline New York has unveiled CITY, its first monthly fashion and makeup blog, featuring contributions from a trio of experts, including: designer Erin Wasson, makeup artist Gabriel Almodovar and fashion icon Louise Roe.
“Maybelline New York is not only continuously on the cutting edge of beauty’s emerging technologies and top trends, but it also retains a deep understanding of how the amplification of current and relevant topics fuel social media conversation,” said the brand’s senior vice president, Carolyn Holba.

Mark Murphy Joins Drom
Mark Murphy has joined drom fragrances USA as senior account manager. Based out of the company’s Towaco, NJ offices, Murphy will be tasked with strengthening drom’s expanding personal, hair and home care segments. He has previously held positions at IFF, Givaudan and Symrise.
Glamour Targets Latina Beauty Lover
Glam Belleza Latina
Glamour magazine announced the launch of a new quarterly title, Glam Belleza Latina, which celebrates Latina culture and its passion for beauty with text that interweaves English (90%) and Spanish (10%). Its digest-sized debut issue will feature cover star Jennifer Lopez, as well as editorial contributions from Natalie Morales and Narciso Rodriguez.
“Our readers are beauty-obsessed, and Latina millennials are such a large part of our readership,” stated the book’s editor in chief, Cindi Leive, who also serves as editor in chief of Glamour. “I’m so proud of the authentic, sophisticated, aspirational magazine that Veronica [Chambers, editor] and Sarah [Vinas, art director], have created.”
Grossman to Emcee Mother Awards
The National Mother’s Day Committee will honor four women who balance thriving careers with the ongoing demands of motherhood at the 35th Annual Outstanding Mother Awards, to be held at noon on May 9 at New York’s Pierre Hotel.
Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN, will serve as mistress of ceremonies, presenting awards to Debra Messing, Arianna Huffington, Sephora’s senior vice president of merchandising, Margarita Arriagada and Dottie Mattison of Guggenheim Partners.

Gurwitch Products TAPs Melanie Dir
Melanie Dir has joined Gurwitch Products as director of global product innovation for Laura Mercier. Dir possesses experience across multiple channels and categories, and has previously held positions at Coty Beauty, L’Oréal and, most recently, Bond No. 9. She has worked on brands including Stetson, Tom Brady, Celine Dion, Redken, Limited Too and Abercrombie & Fitch.
