Cellular Mineral Face Exfoliator
La Prairie is incorporating its gem proficiency and taste for luxury into what dermatologists say is one of the most essential steps in any skin care regimen: exfoliation.
The brand hosted an editors’ event in which its New York City headquarters had been transformed into a spa-like space to unveil Cellular Mineral Face Exfoliator and Cellular Mineral Body Exfoliator—both launching in February. What differentiates these exfoliators from competitors is the inclusion of powdered gemstones, La Prarie said, which, in combination with gentle scrubbing beads, ensures a uniform exfoliation.
(The company already counts an Essential Exfoliator in its roster—a water-rinseable sloughing cream priced at $80.00 for 7.0 oz.)
Other key ingredients in the Mineral Exfoliator line include pure diamond powder, natural emulsifiers and La Prairie’s exclusive Cellular Complex. Produced from biotechnological sources, Cellular Complex has been included in almost every single La Prairie product since the company’s founding in 1978, and is composed of ginseng root extract, horsetail extract and glycoproteins.
Cellular Mineral Body Exfoliator
Mineral exfoliation, La Prairie said, removes the upper layers of dead skin cells along with impurities and excess debris. The products tout an iridescent appearance befitting their jewel-like ingredients, including meteorite dust, titanium dioxide and mineral-enriched gem powders.
Face Exfoliator, which features a nourishing gel base, also contains rock crystal, pure diamond powder and tourmaline powder. To offset sensitivity, the formula comprises a solubizing system, the 100-petaled rose centigolia flower and glycerin to hydrate and condition. It is priced at $125.00 for 3.4 oz.
Body Exfoliator polishes with pure diamond powder, amethyst powder and smithsonite mineral extract, and cleanses with olivine oil, rose hips oil and camellia oil. A larger-sized 6.8 oz. tube will be priced at $125.00.
La Prairie products are available at Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue as well as www.shoplaprairie.com.
