Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) hosted over 2,000 guests at their 18th annual Beauty Awards Product Demonstration at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building in New York City on March 7.

“This year’s event is the biggest we’ve ever had, with the most people, and the most products,” said Carlotta Jacobson, president of CEW. “It’s like the biggest beauty counter you could ever see.”

Over 300 top beauty brands showcased more than 625 innovative products, hoping to be named one of the 140 finalists chosen across 29 categories. CEW partners with the NPD Group to make sure each product is entered into the appropriate category, and each category is then voted on by CEW members.

“Winning a CEW Beauty Award is a very prestigious honor,” said Jacobson. “The awards have become an invaluable resource for consumers, who recognize that the CEW seal stands for a truly innovative and effective beauty product because it is the only award selected by those who know beauty’s best—the industry insiders.”

This year’s awards will have a Facebook presence for the public, as CEW continues to build their social platform, and will incorporate new technology in order to make the viewing and voting process as easy as possible.

Over 4,500 CEW members vote to select the finalists, and the CEW Board of Governors will vote to determine the winners, who will be announced at the Beauty Awards luncheon on May 18 at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York City.
