As the biggest launch in the history of Sally Hansen nail color, Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips have taken the nail category by storm. Now sold in over 40 countries across the globe, the hit launch has been called “the innovation that revolutionized nail color,” and the brand continues to develop new shades each season to entertain their trendy and sophisticated consumers. “The big difference in Salon Effects is that they are real nail polish strips, not a sticker,” said Annette DeVita, vice president of U.S. marketing for Sally Hansen. “They have gained great consumer satisfaction because they wear for up to 10 days, they are easy to apply, have no dry time, and they remove easily with nail polish remover.”

With a total of 40 shades, 24 of which are new for 2012, Salon Effects are a way for consumers to express creativity and personality through their fingertips.

“Neons were discontinued from the prior year due to slower sales vs. patterns, and therefore more patterns and classic shades were added this year,” said DeVita.

For the first time ever, Sally Hansen has collaborated with a recording artist to develop a new Salon Effects collection. Designed by chart-topping singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne, the limited-edition collection of edgy prints—skulls, stars, studs and more—is set to launch globally in April. Inspired by the pop star’s energetic, no-frills attitude and straight-talking lyrics, these 12 new patterns are designed to captivate pop-punk princesses everywhere.

“My nails chip when I strum my guitar, and before I knew about these, I had to reapply polish every other night,” said Lavigne. “This product is awesome, and I think my fans are really gonna dig it. The designs have a fun, rock ‘n’ roll vibe that is totally my style.”
