Conair Spills Revolutionary Curl Secret

Conair
Conair’s Curl Secret and MiraCurl from Babyliss Pro.

With a revolutionary device several years in development, Conair is slated to transform the way women curl their hair, said the company’s president, Ron Diamond.

Its newest creation—an at-home curling tool dubbed Curl Secret—draws hair into a tourmaline ceramic chamber, whereby strands are wrapped, held and heated from all angles, explained Robin Linsely, Conair’s vice president of marketing—“like surround-sound heating.” After a timer signals, the perfect curl—shiny, long-lasting and three-dimensional—is released.

Curl Secret features two heat settings and three timer settings for customized usage. Lightweight brushless motor technology extends the life of the product, while an automatic shutoff, sleep-mode function and an anti-tangle feature ensure foolproof control, Conair said.

The device is priced at $99.99 and will be available at mass retailers and drugstores—as well as specialty and department stores—in September.

In the professional channel, a comparable product entitled MiraCurl from Babyliss Pro—which Conair acquired in 1995—will be sold.

Featuring a nano titanium curl chamber and additional options for heat, time and curl direction, it is priced at $249.99 and available at professional beauty distributors and salons.
