Mass beauty leader CoverGirl has added the risk-taking rocker Pink and Grammy-nominated visionary Janelle Monáe to its roster of illustrious spokesmodels.
Pink recently wrapped her first print campaign shoot touting “a bold new mascara innovation,” which bows in fall, CoverGirl said. “In the months ahead, Pink will debut many more surprising new beauty looks on her lashes, lips and everything in between.” Monáe will debut in a humungous 10-page ad spread in the September issue of Vogue.
“I have a lot to celebrate,” stated Pink. “I called my new album [releasing September 14] The Truth About Love, and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music, and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love.”
“Pink is a powerful and provocative role model, who has always been an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and general manager, CoverGirl Cosmetics. “We love the energy and confidence that she radiates, and the fact that inside and out she’s as cool as she looks.”

Monáe, a genre-bending songstress whose debut album The ArchAndroid was met with critical acclaim, said of the opportunity: “I believe it’s time that women truly owned their superpowers and used their beauty and strength to change the world around them.” Monáe’s own non-profit, Super7, is committed to empowering young women in terms of health, well-being and personal dreams.
“Ever since Janelle made her electrifying arrival on the music scene, she has captured our imaginations, stirred our souls, and made us all move our feet,” Eggleston Bracey added. “We’re elated and can’t wait to show the world another dimension of her artistic ‘superpowers’ as a member of our CoverGirl family.”
Since its introduction in 1961, past CoverGirls have included Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Rachel Hunter, Tyra Banks, Niki Taylor and Molly Sims. The current list features Sofia Vergara, Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, Taylor Swift and Team USA athletes Jennifer Kessy and Marlen Esparza.
